Welcome to Division 5's website. Here you will find classroom information for students and their families. Although students are expected to write in their agenda everyday, the purpose of this website is to share and communicate additional information, tools, and resources. The best way to contact me is by email or arrange an appointment to meet before or after school. I also encourage students to practice their advocacy skills by making an effort to email or meet me outside of class time if they have any questions or concerns regarding their learning. DIV 5 AGREEMENTS 2022-2023 We raise our hand to speak. We do not interrupt others. We keep our inside voices on in the classroom and halls. We will stay focused and quiet during work and lesson time. We face towards the speaker. Always be respectful, ready to help, and a team player. We stop when someone says stop. We are responsible and try to arrive on time. Act like you are in front of a principal. Make appropriate choices. We share learning tools and spaces, by taking turns and not keeping them to our self for the whole day. We don’t hurt anyone or anything. We only run and climb in the gym or outside. We don’t vandalize or steal other peoples stuff. We stop and listen to staff instructions on first ask. We can draw on Fridays during silent read, if all our work is done. We can fidget with something that is not distracting, not destroying, is tiny, and is not a toy. We need 10 minutes to eat first thing in the morning, before or after recess, and after lunch. The teacher will be funny, kind, supportive, and half strict/half nice. The teacher will give us quiet time to work and not interrupt us too often. The teacher will reward us for good behaviour. The teacher will help the person with their hand up first, unless it is an emergency (health or safety issue). The teacher will not keep us in detention for more then 10 minutes, unless you have a note and will make it up the next day. The teacher will not assign homework, but if work is not completed during class time, students will have at least two days to complete or ask for an extension.
