JUNE 2021 - E02 Social Justice Project - Port Macquarie Koala Hospital
This spring, E02 students brainstormed a variety of social justice issues for Career Ed. After much discussion the students showed a keen interest for animal rights, and wanted to focus on koalas after their devastating loss during the 2019 bush fires in Australia.
The class decided the best way they could make change was to raise money for the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. Their goal was to raise $200 and sponsor 5 koalas. After taking on roles such as; research, accounting, speaking, writing, marketing, poster making, communication, money collecting, and leadership, the students raised a total of $360 and sponsored 9 koalas for a year! Read the stories of the koala's E02 choose to sponsor below.
